New laws
Despite becoming effective July 1st, 2010, these new DUI laws are still unknown to many individuals. Ignition Interlock Devices are helping DUI offenders get their licenses back sooner so they can move on with their lives.

A new state law that requires ALL 1st time offenders arrested in Los Angeles, Alameda, Sacramento, and Tulare counties to install an IID on their vehicle in order to reinstate their license from the DMV. They simply cannot wait it out for an extended period and get it back.SB598 & Clean Up SB895
This is a statewide bill affecting evert 2nd and 3rd Offender, refusal excluded that dramatically reduces the suspension period for 2nd and 3rd offenders. With the installation of an Ignition Interlock Device (IID):
- 2nd Offenders: Can now reinstate their license after serving 90 days of APS suspension, as compared to the existing 2-year requirement
- 3rd Offenders: Can now reinstate their license after serving 180 days of APS suspension, as compared to the existing 3-year requirement
